The cottages stand in the grounds of the owners' fifteenth century thatched cottage (grade 2 listed). Each cottage is single-storey, with one double (super kingsize bed) and one single bedroom. Combined kitchen/diner/lounge. Bathroom with electric shower. Very well-equipped. TV with freeview, DVD player, CD player, radio. Electric radiators. Ample off-road parking. Set in large garden which guests are welcome to use. Well-behaved pets are welcome, and enjoy playing in our field next to the garden.

Local attractions include houses and gardens (e.g. Stourhead, Tintinhull, Montacute, Athelhampton, Abbotsbury, Kingston Lacy); ancient monuments and hillforts (e.g. Stonehenge, Hambledon Hill, Maiden Castle, Badbury Rings, Avebury, Corfe Castle, the Cerne Abbas Giant); the Jurassic Coast, including the golden sands of Bournemouth, Poole, Studland, Swanage and Weymouth, and the fascinating pebble beach at Chesil; lots of wonderful countryside; picturesque villages and market towns; Thomas Hardy's Wessex; walking the Jubilee Trail, The Blackmore Vale Path, the Stour Valley Way, the Hardy Way, as well as many local nature and river trails.
The River Stour is popular with anglers, and day or week permits can be purchased in Sturminster Newton. For other interests there are many golf clubs within a half hour's drive; many transport museums; steam railways - including the steam-enthusiast's annual highlight: the Great Dorset Steam Fair just down the road in Tarrant Hinton.
Sturminster Newton itself is a mediaeval market town with a weekly market, monthly farmers' market, and excellent places to eat out. Other nearby towns include Sherborne, Wimborne, Blandford Forum, Shaftesbury, Yeovil and Dorchester.
