Cottages at Woods End Landing, Bamfield BC

Bamfield is a community located on Barkley Sound, Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The community, with a population of 250, is divided into East and West Bamfield by Bamfield Inlet.

Woods End Landing is a waterfront property in West Bamfield. The 4 cottages are surrounded by trees... hence the name. Each is uniquely designed, built and decorated with antiques and log accents, and named after the first settlers of the area - the Homesteader, the Mariner, the Woodsman and the Beachcomber.

Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, living/dining area, 2 bedrooms with 4 double-size log beds, complete bedding including duvet comforters, skylights... all the comforts of home. Outside is a private porch, gas barbeque and plenty of seating.

Local attractions and activities include some of the best saltwater sport fishing anywhere including salmon, halibut and cod fishing, world class kayaking, whale watching and hiking.

If the silence and elegance of the kayak is more your style you can kayak around the islands of Pacific Rim National Park. Bamfield and Grappler Inlets are great areas in which to kayak or canoe. Venture into shoreline caves, pay a visit to some historical sites, or simply enjoy the landscape from the waters. Kayaks can be rented right from our docks.

For hikers some of favourite destinations would include: Brady's Beach, Execution Rock, Keeha Beach, Cape Beale Lighthouse and The West Coast Trail.

If you're not into hiking, how about a stroll along the Boardwalk? Visit what we locals call downtown - the General Store, Coast Guard Station, Post Office, and Cappuccino Bar.

Enjoy a wildlife excursion. In a two-hour tour of the surrounding waters you can spot sea lions, bald eagles, whales and other marine life and coastal creatures.

Barkley Sound and the surrounding waters are noted for exceptional scuba diving and snorkeling. There are many old ship wrecks in the area which have provided just the right environment for reefs to form and local fish to make their homes.
