Beachcomber Chalets
The chalets are situated just 5 miles from Great Yarmouth and midway between Hemsby and Caister-on-Sea with easy access to the Norfolk Broads and to the beach at California.
Each chalet has a fully fitted kitchen with electric cooker and grill, microwave, refrigerator, toaster and electric kettle.
There is a fully tiled bathroom with modern suite and electric shower over the bath.
Bedroom 1, has a double bed, an electric heater and fitted wardrobe.
Bedroom 2, has 2 single beds, an electric heater and fitted wardrobe.
There is also a double bed settee in the lounge/diner for guests 5 & 6.
Bed linen is provided but guests should bring their own towels and tea towels.
The lounge/diner is carpeted or carpet tiled and has Colour TV with Freeview, DVD player and Radio. An electric heater is provided should the nights turn chilly.
A dining table and chairs together with armchairs, coffee tables and a double bed settee complete the furnishings.
Electricity is by means of a £1 coin operated meter with the rate being set by the site owner.
On the site is a licenced club providing family entertainment throughout the season. Within the club is a children's bar, pool table, dartboard and BIG FELLA'S restaurant. Also on site is a heated indoor swimming and paddling pool, amusement arcade, ten pin bowling, ATM, minimarket, launderette, Fish & chip shop, and cafe.
Children's swings and slide are provided on the adjacent Sunbeach Holiday Village site and may be used by our guests.
Our prices include membership of the club and the swimming pool.
Dutchy's Tavern on Sunbeach Holiday Village is a fully licenced club. Entrance is free and a varied programme of entertainment is provided at w/ends and high season. Bar meals are available and there is a pool table and amusements. An outside seating area is also provided so you can enjoy the sunshine whilst enjoying a drink or two.
The beach is literally a 10 minute walk away and dogs are allowed on this beach. A pub with restaurant, pool table, outside children's play area, beer garden and weekend evening entertainment are adjacent to the beach. Seasonally a shop, chip shop and amusements are also available near the beach together with the licenced Beachcomber Club providing occasional live entertainment. Within walking distance are more amusements, bingo, Chinese take away, clubs, swimming pool, launderette, restaurants, cafes and shops.
For those who wish to travel further afield a regular bus service to Great Yarmouth, Caister-on-Sea, Hemsby and other villages stops at the site entrance. A bus shelter is provided further along California Road.
The village of Scratby is close by with it's Post Office, supermarket, Clock museum, caravan and chalet sites with their entertainments and swimming pools. There are also restaurants, bookmaker gift shops and unisex hairdresser available.
Nearby Hemsby is a small seaside town with access to a fine sandy beach. There are shops, amusements, crazy golf, pubs, clubs, restaurants and takeaways.
Caister-on-Sea has caravan sites with clubs and amusements. The town itself has pubs and a selection of shops as well as access to the beach.
Great Yarmouth is everything you would expect of a large seaside town. Miles of sandy beach, piers, theatres, museums, shops, pubs, amusements, crazy golf, Pleasure Beach, Sealife Centre, restaurants and cafes. There are boat trips from the beach, a seafront train and horse drawn carriages.
For those interested in sporting activities there is a golf course, tennis courts, basketball courts and Bowling Greens.
Horse racing takes place at Great Yarmouth Racecourse while Greyhound racing and Stock Car racing take place at the nearby Stadium. Golf, tennis, crazy golf, bowls etc., can be found along the seafront.
The nearby town of Gorleston is quieter than Great Yarmouth but has many of the amenities to be expected in a seaside town together with miles of sandy beach.
Nearby are the Norfolk Broads with miles of walks, boating and freshwater fishing. Don't forget that a rod licence is required.
The Norfolk countryside is just great for walking and cycling and there are many places to visit in this area of Norfolk.
