The village of Nafferton is adjacent to Driffiled, the capital of the Yorkshire Wolds. Made famous by David Hockney series of paintings - the landscape is varied and breathtaking with many great walks and cycle routes.
The cottage is also suitable for walking / rambling holidays, and also cycle/cyclist stays. ( also motor bike trips ) .
The Grade II listed cottage is set in a pretty village within the Yorkshire Wolds. Period features and charm, a cosy wood-burner and a beautiful garden, this is a luxury little holiday home just perfect for couples.
As its name suggest the Old Cottage is amongst the oldest in the village and dates back to the 1700s and has bags of traditional character.
Once inside the cottage boasts a reception room for dining, and separate lounge. The kitchen has bags of original features and runs to the bathroom with original Victorian cast iron roll top bath. Upstairs is 2 bedrooms, with the main bedroom access via the spare room.
Outside is a delightful sunny enclosed garden with gas BBQ , and a shed ideal for storing those on two wheels.
The Old Cottage is set in the village of Nafferton, a peaceful little place in the Yorkshire Wolds around 30 minutes from York. The cottage is set street-side in the heart of the village with shop next door, village hall opposite, and 4 pubs/restaurants nearby. There is also a fish and chips shop and other local amenities.
Nafferton is an ideal base from which to explore all that this area has to offer been close to the cities of York and Hull, the market towns of Beverley and Driffield, but also the Yorkshire coast with seaside resorts and beaches at Bridlington, Hornsea and Scarborough.
The countryside here makes it an excellent location for cycling holidays and walking or rambling breaks.
There is numerous tourists attractions nearby and an abundance of things to do - and within the cottage is a large guide book of things you can do. From tranquil walks and cycling, forest walks and beaches to the more adventurous boat trips and boat hire, horse riding and lessons, light aircraft trips, skydiving, and much more. A whole host of museums and stately homes such as Sledmere House, Rise Hall, Burton Agnes Hall, and Burton Constable hall are all very close by.
