Skye Self Catering at Number 12

Sleeping 9, Number 12 is a 4 bedroom and 4 bathroom self catering 'holiday let' house centrally located in the Island's capital, Portree. The house is situated in a small crescent of similar houses off the main road. Number 12 is a short walk to the village centre (5 minutes) and is the perfect base from which to explore the Island. Off-street parking for up to 4 cars is available on the large block-paved driveway.

This holiday let has an ensuite family room (double and single), a twin ensuite room, a twin room with adjacent shower room and WC and a further ground floor double bedroom also with adjacent shower and WC.

Number 12 has oil fired central heating as well as an open coal fire. There is a large lounge and well-appointed kitchen with dining room. Guests are also free to use the large rear garden. Portree is the main town on the romantic Isle of Skye. Steeped in history and heritage, it also has a range of activities the whole family can enjoy.

Much of the island’s cultural focus is here and the award-winning Aros Centre at the south end of the town has an extensive programme of concerts, theatre and cinema, as well as exhibitions, plus a range of speciality shopping you won’t find on manys-a-high street.

Appreciation of culture is strong on Skye and Portree is often the base for festivals and galas which are not just enjoyable but inspiring. With a great history as a fishing port also, Portree still prides itself on the quality of its seafood and fish eateries and everywhere, standards are kept extremely high. In fact, it was the harbour which gave Portree its name, being the Gaelic for King’s Port.

The town, which offers an excellent choice of shops, is the ideal base from which to explore the remainder of this very special island. The unsurpassed natural beauty and crisp clean air continue to draw visitors in their thousands year after year - but somehow Skye retains its sense of wide open space.

From Portree you can also marvel at one of Scotland’s most dramatic skylines - the Cuillins. While some walks and climbs are suitable for only the most experienced, novice walkers can join guided walks and traverse less arduous paths to enjoy the Cuillins in all their splendour.
