Situated 3½ miles from Builth Wells, Powys (home of The Royal Welsh Show) in the heart of mid Wales.
This gem of a small Welsh estate is bounded by the open hill to the south and to the north the River Irfon, a tributary of the River Wye, the largest salmon river in Wales. Fishing on the Cefnllysgwynne beat consists of two miles double bank and a further mile single bank of the Irfon. From the top of the hill to the river side are beautiful wooded walks with good tracks for cyclists, there is pony trekking nearby.
An easy 1/2 hour drive to Hay-on-Wye, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons and the Elan Valley at Rhayader. There are two Cottages for Holidays on the estate.
Hafod-Y-Blodau is a self catering holiday cottage This delightful converted barn is perched at the top of the hill with breathtaking views over the Irfon valley and the Cambrian Mountains.
A birdwatchers paradise, on a level with birds circling high above the valley, Hafod is surrounded by pasture land and woodland, with access on foot leading onto the open hill and the Epynt way walking path, for walking enthusiasts. Or if the weather is warm, walk down to the river and cool off with an for a wild swim.
Accommodation
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with twin beds in each and a hand basin in one.
Bathroom with power shower over bath, w.c. and hand basin. All linen is provided
Downstairs there is a well-equipped kitchen/dining room with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and cupboard units.
Sitting room with wood burning stove (logs provided) and TV/DVD. French windows give access to a sun terrace, with garden furniture and a barbeque stored in the garden shed at the side of the cottage. Night storage and convection heaters to supplement wood stove.
The entrance hall provides ample space for storing coats and boots and has an adjoining downstairs w.c with hand basin.
Outside the cottage there is space for parking.
The Hendre is a self-catering farmhouse.
The house is surrounded by a garden with lawns and flower beds.
Beyond the garden, it is a five minute walk across the fields to the River Irfon famous for its trout and grayling and the tiny parish church of St Davis's Llanynis in a field by the river. This beautiful stretch of the Irfon has many lovely secluded pools for wild swimming and plenty of shallows for paddling and minnowing.
The side of the hill up to the open hill is woodland with numerous wooded paths and tracks for walking or cycling. The Hendre is a perfect base for active holidays or peacefully relaxing away from the stresses and strains of every-day life.

Backdoor to small terrace with table for al fresco meals.
Cloakroom/boiler room with washing machine, sink unit and w.c., storage room for coats, boots.
