Hawthorn Barn

Hawthorn Barn is a converted barn attached to a windmill in a quiet rural location, about 5 miles south-west of Carlisle.

Originally from Lancashire but in love with the Lake District, we moved here in 2003.

There is a large lounge and kitchen area with cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and TV.

There are two bedrooms, both with ensuite facilities. One bedroom can be configured as a double, twin or single to suit your requirements. Bed linen and towels are provided.

There is very easy access to the Lake District (guided tours available), Hadrian's Wall and the Solway Coast. The city of Carlisle is within easy reach with its castle, cathedral and renowned museum, Tullie House.

Further afield lie Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Prices start at £140 for 2 nights for up to 4 guests, and discounts are available for longer stays. Prices are not dependent on the number of guests.

The price for a 7-night stay is £350, and for stays of 8 days or more, there is a flat fee of £40 for each additional night.

Guests should check in no earlier than 2.00pm on the day of arrival and check out by 10.00am on the day of departure, although we are quite flexible about this.

No smoking or pets are allowed.
