Green Horizons Studio Apartment
Green Horizons is a unique house set in six acres of beautiful park and woodland on the edge of Puivert village in the Languedoc, South of France.
Our self-contained studio apartment is bright and spacious, with its own private terrace and barbecue overlooking the garden and pool.
An ideal place for couples wanting a romantic break, or a family with a young child, the studio has a well-equipped kitchen area, double bed, cosy sofa corner, and table and chairs, as well as ample storage space. The bathroom has a rainforest shower, and is equipped with hairdryer, towels and toiletries. We can provide you with a travel cot and baby bath, or a futon for an older child. You will have your own private entrance with drive and parking space.
The apartment has a range of DVDs, books and board games. Free wifi is available. Enjoy a meal or glass of wine on your own sunny terrace or under the pergola, explore the grounds, or swim in the large pool with its plentiful sun-loungers and cook in the pool-house summer kitchen.
A welcome pack for your arrival includes tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and bread and cereal for breakfast. The studio apartment is self-catering: stroll down to the boulangerie in the morning for freshly-baked bread and croissants; fetch milk from the nearby farm after milking in the evenings; fill a “cubi” with wine from the organic vineyard; and shop in local markets for seasonal vegetables. For a break from cooking, Puivert village also offers a range of restaurants, bars and cafés around the lake in season, or Chalabre (10 minutes’ drive or 20 minutes by bike) has bars and restaurants all year round.
As well as sharing the grounds, swimming pool, picnic area and summer kitchen, you are welcome to borrow our two adult bicycles, or to store your own bicycles safely in our rainproof barn. Clothes washing and drying facilities are available on request.
Green Horizons offers you a welcoming and peaceful place to stay in a beautiful area. The Languedoc, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, is one of the sunniest regions of France, with over 200 days of sunshine a year. Popular with hikers, cyclists and watersports enthusiasts, it is close to the mountains for seasonal skiing and to the Mediterranean. With its organic vineyards, Cathar castles, and colourful local markets it offers something for everyone.
There are bars and restaurants within walking distance in season, and a short cycle-ride or drive away all year round. Lac de Montbel, the largest watersports lake in the South of France, is 15 minutes’ drive or 30 minutes by bike. The cinema is 20 minutes drive away, and Puivert village, swimming lake, castle and museum are in easy walking distance.
Please contact us for more information or to book your stay. We look forward to welcoming you to Green Horizons.
