Higher Witheven Farm cottages comprise two stylish barn conversions, Barn Owl and Swallow's Nest, each sleeping 2-6 guests in quiet countryside just a few minutes drive from the coast at Crackington Haven.

Barn Owl
It is hard not to be enchanted by this welcoming little cottage in this deeply rural Cornish backwater. Converted to a very high standard from a traditional Cornish stone barn to create to a contemporary and stylish cottage retreat, Barn Owl sleeps 2-6 guests in 1 double, 1 twin bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge. Barn Owl is set up in upside-down style with a delightfully light and airy open plan living area on the first floor with views across green fields and woods.

On the ground floor are two homely bedrooms, a double with en suite having a shower over bath and a twin with an en suite wetroom. At the top of the pine stairs is the spacious living room with separate kitchen, dining and lounge, – all tastefully furnished and lovingly maintained to create a clean, comfortable and uncluttered space. The hand-built kitchen accommodates a wide range of 'make life easier' appliances (electric hob and oven, fridge freezer, washer/drier and dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker) and full range of utensils. There's also a vacuum cleaner, clothes airer, iron and ironing board should you need them. Step through French windows to a small balcony with steps down to an enclosed lawn and terrace area offering patio furniture and a charcoal BBQ. Also on the first floor is a separate WC and basin to save you galloping up and downstairs.

For those looking to combine trips to wonderful attractions (think Eden Project, or Morwhellam Quay, with exploring the countryside and days relaxing on stunning beaches Barn Owl perfectly located for families or couples to combine memorable experiences with an equally memorable place to stay.

Swallow's Nest
Swallows Nest is a beautifully presented Cornish cottage stylishly transformed from a rugged stone farm building to create a homely rural escape in the deeplu rural hamlet of Canworthy Water, yet only a few minutes drive from stunning beaches and coastal walks, or bustling little coastal towns of Tintagel, Camelford and Bude.
Rooms are crisp, bright and uncluttered to create a charming country elegance. The front door opens to a wood-floored living area with chunky pine beams and French windows leading out to an enclosed garden with terrace offering a BBQ and dining furniture for dinners under the stars.

The hand crafted kitchen units and worktops house a pleasing range of facilities to suit chefs of all levels. These include an electric hob and oven, fridge freezer, washer/drier and dishwasher. Appliances include a microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee maker together with a full range of utensils, crockery and cutlery, vacuum cleaner, clothes airer, iron and board.

Swallow’s Nest accommodates 2-6 guests in two comfortable bedrooms comprising one double and one twin which, much to children's delight, comprises a set of adult-sized bunk beds, together with a sofa bed in the lounge. Both bedrooms have en suite bathroom facilities.

Higher Witheven Farm is located down a quiet green lane just outside the North Cornish village of Canworthy Water. Enjoy enchanting walks across the farmland (don’t be surprised if you’re accompanied by the odd free ranging chicken or duck).

There’s a good pub less than 5 minutes drive at Wainhouse Corner where the pasties in the nearby shop are highly recommended. Crackington Haven is the nearest beach with rock pools, waves good enough for bodyboarding, coastal walks and a tempting choice of cafes. while many others, (Widmouth Bay, Watergate Beach and Bude) are also within easy reach. Boscastle and Tintagel, whose castle is reputed to be King Arthur's Camelot. Other 'must see' attractions include The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan, or make a day trip of it and explore the National Maritime Museum and National Aquarium on the South Cornish coast.
