Rock Cottage is a delightful chocolate box cottage sleeping 4 in 2 bedrooms (&cot), tucked into a North Devon hillside with views across green rolling hills on the edge of a picturesque village with fine friendly pub.
Built in the 17th Century, Rock Cottage’s 2’ thick ‘cob’ walls will keep you naturally cool in the summer, snug and warm in the winter.
The cottage is fabulously equipped for all needs. Facilities inside include free Wi-Fi, Digital TV’s with DVD (living room and main bedroom), DAB tuner/ CD player (living room only), fridge/ freezer, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, AEG hotplate with self-cleaning twin-oven with grill, LG microwave oven, dishwasher, Kenwood kettle and toaster, Habitat and Portmeirion tableware, plenty of stainless steel saucepans and utensils. For days out, there are vacuum flasks and picnic ware.
The oak beamed lounge contains a large inglenook fireplace with woodburner and original bread oven. A Laura Ashley sofa and wingback chairs offers plenty of seating from which to relax and watch TV (Freeview), listen to music (i-Pod port on Hi-Fi), log into the WiFi or rediscover the delights of jigsaws and board games.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and newly installed family bathroom with bath and overhead shower. Both bedrooms have a door or stair gate at the top of the stairs for child safety. The master bedroom has a large double bed. The twin bedroom has a small en suite facility with sink and WC. The twin beds can be put together if preferred as a second double room.
Rock has a terraced garden with lovely outdoor seating areas, the lower patio having all weather wooden dining table, chairs and parasols, with steep path leading to a separate decking area giving you views across the valley.
A second patio with rock garden, border, arbour and chairs, steps lies to the other side of the cottage. There is off-road parking large enough for 2 cars.
