The accommodation has been converted to a very high standard providing quality and comfort for your holiday or short break in Northamptonshire.
We operate a no smoking policy and pets are not allowed at Thorny Cottage due to us having our own working dogs on the farm. Older children over the age of 12 are welcome.
We can offer walks and wildlife, with two lakes and acres of woodland within Watford Lodge Farm, plus sheep, horses and a friendly donkey nearby.
The cottage is in located in the village of Watford and is within the grounds of a working farm in the beautiful countryside. Long Bucky village is just a short distance away and has shops for your daily essentials.
There is easy access to the M1 and M6 motorways and there is also a regular train service from the station.
Thorny Cottage is in an ideal location for your base to visit many local attractions.
Althorpe is just 8 miles away and Ashby St Ledgers where the Gunpowder Plot was planned is within 3 miles.
If you are a motor racing fan, Silverstone Circuit and Rockingham are within easy reach.
We have Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers Rugby Clubs, plus The Cobblers Football Club - named after the famous Northamptonshire shoe industry.
Other places of interest including Stratford Upon Avon and Warwick Castle are a nice drive for a day out.
Trent Bridge and Egbaston are less than one hour away, plus Pitsford reservoir, Draycote and Ravensthorpe - all offering excellent Trout fishing.
