Unique Villa in beautiful setting
This is a special holiday where you may sample the traditional Portuguese lifestyle. You can hear the sheep's bells as they pass over the hills and chickens roam freely around the little cottages and yucca trees of the hamlet. Relax and unwind in a warm climate surrounded by exotic plants and beautiful scenery. Over 50 species of birds were recorded over a 2 week period.
House has a jacuzzi bath and dishwasher, 2 shower rooms and huge covered veranda where you can sit surrounded by exotic plants. The house has its own walled garden which is tended with vines and a variety of fruit trees. Whatever season you go in there is sure to be something available for you to pick and sample whether it is luscious grapes, peaches, oranges, strawberries, pears or plums. There is a 12ft x 12ft free standing pool a where you can dip in and cool off, terracing and bar-b-q. This is luxury you can afford!
The property was built in 1954 and has an art deco feel to it. The school was in use until the late 1980s and was derelict until 2004 when we purchased it. We have renovated it to a high standard which reflects the original build quality. It has it's own walled garden which is cared for with a great variety of fruit for all seasons; grapes, peaches, oranges, and even strawberries! Please note it is necessary for the gardener to access the garden at times. It is in the small hamlet of Sambro; some of the cottages are not used and a few are lived in. Chickens wander freely about, and goats and sheep graze on the hills. .
You will have sole use of the house and grounds.
There is a large free standing swimming pool and a bar-b-q.
The property is located approximately 5 kms on a hard track with is not tarmacced but used daily by all kinds of vehicles. Even the smallest hire car will suffice.
The school is the subject of the book Alentejo Magic, available from Amazon.
