Morwenna Cottage, Mousehole
Morwenna is a traditional Cornish cottage located in the pretty village of Mousehole. The property overlooks its own sea front garden and enjoys magnificent views of Mounts Bay.
Morwenna projects a wonderful 'olde world' atmosphere with beamed ceilings, granite coves and other features such as a bathroom panelled in 'ship-like' timbers. The accommodation is spacious and well furnished with lots of old pine.
The ground floor accommodation consists of a lounge, WC, dining room and kitchen with an enclosed courtyard. Facilities include a fridge/freezer, double oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, digital television and DVD player. The upstairs accommodation includes 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. Morwenna sleeps 6 in one twin and two double bedrooms, one of which has a four poster bed.
The cottage is set in a quiet location yet is within walking distance of the harbour, beach, shops and restaurants. Parking is available nearby. A regular bus service runs from Mousehole to the local town of Penzance and the nearby villages.
Mousehole is a pretty Cornish village lying on the sheltered side of the Lands End peninsula and 3 miles from Penzance. The picturesque harbour has two small beaches with rocky coves beyond and is surrounded bt pretty stone cottages with quaint narrow streets. The local shops include a post office, newsagents and craft shops as well as a good choice of pubs and restaurants.
At Christmas time the harbour is brightly illuminated with the famous Mousehole lights. On Tom Bawcocks Eve (23rd Dec) you can taste Star Gazey pie in the local inn. The story of Tom Bawcock, based on a local legend, is told in the book, 'The Mousehole cat'.
