The bedroom house has space to hang two hammocks.
Please be aware that there are no beds. At Sac Nicté we sleep like the mayans in traditional hammocks with protective mosquito netting
The bathroom house has hot and cold running water to the shower; WC and hand basin.
The Yucatan is well known for its variety of birdlife, and Sac Nicte is the ideal location for birdwatching. From the comfort of your casita, you can watch the amazing variety of tropical birds right on your doorstep.
The village of Chunkanan is famous for its three cenotes, also known as the cenotes of Cuzama. (A cenote is a sacred mayan underground lake). These cenotes are reached by taking a horse-drawn truck on a mini-rail deep into the jungle. The trip takes three hours, with half-an-hour at each cenote to allow for memorable swimming/diving opportunities. In the village there is also an excellent restaurant serving delicious traditional mayan dishes in a beautiful setting.
Chunkanan is in the heart of a large cenote zone and there are many other cenotes waiting to be discovered. Especially recommended are the cenotes of Homun and Sabacchen. The Lagunas of Yalahau, located just beyond the village of Homun, is a protected nature sanctuary, considered a priority location for the conservation of biodiversity of flora and fauna. It has historical, archaeological and cultural relevance in that there are archaeological remains hidden in the jungle vegetation and hosts a range of species from both humid and arid origins.
The archaeological sites of Acanceh and Mayapan are within an easy drive
We offer a special three day package which includes a stay at Sac Nicte, breakfast and a main meal at the restaurant in the village, and a guide to the cenote sof Homun.
