It has been re-modelled into a upscale holiday let which is easy walking distance to all that Melrose has to offer.
Further away there are many golf courses it is Scotland after all! Within a thirty minute drive there are 21 courses and forty-five to sixty minutes you can play many great courses such as Dunbar, Musselburgh, Gullane, North Berwick and Muirfield
The Beautiful Northumberland coast starts about forty-five minutes drive south which has quiet beaches and some lovely small fishing ports with the majestic Bamburgh Castle overseeing it all. A day trip to this area is a must as you can also visit Holy Island and Alnwick Castle which is the real setting for the Harry Potter movies not Orlando Florida and you wont have to wait for eight hours to get in.
Back to Melrose again, when visiting the town you can browse the independent shops and restaurants or visit the 11th century abbey or for the really energetic amongst you a climb up the Eildon hills will give you a healthy appetite.
The Scottish Borders is a area of scenic beauty with many castles, abbeys and stately homes which are all short drive away.
