West Lane Cottage
Highly recommended by many visitors over the last three years, this is a cosy and comfortable cottage equipped to the highest standard for a self catering holiday in the pretty Piddle Valley. There are two bedrooms, an en suite shower room, kitchen diner, lounge, second reception room and cloakroom. The private garden adjoins a bridle path leading to a choice of two pubs.
A wonderful location to explore rural and coastal Dorset.
West Dorset hosts a range of attractions to the visitor including Country Houses, Gardens, The Tank Museum, Monkey World, Abbotsbury Swannery, Chesil Beach, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Max Gate (the birthplace of Thomas Hardy) to name but a few. There are a wide range of places to appeal to the 'foodie' with restaurants run by Mark Hix (ex The Ivy), Matt Folas (winner of Masterchef) and courses run by Lesley Waters of Ready Steady Cook fame. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and his River Cottage series were shot in nearby Beaminster, and the market towns of Bridport and Sherborne are within easy reach.
Dogs and their owners will find a host of country walks and bridleways, not only from our cottage in Piddlehinton, but throughout the beautiful Dorset countryside. Golf, horse riding, fishing, mountain biking, skiing, swimming, go karting, clay pigeon shooting are all available as are gently courses covering arts and crafts so prevalent in the County.
There is a huge range of award winning pubs and restaurants within a 20 mile radius of the cottage, including the Gaggle of Geese at Buckland Newton, the Greyhound at Sydling St Nicholas, the New Inn at Cerne Abbas and the Michelin Star restaurant Sienna.
