From its start Stirling was established as a place of importance; the great rock was the obvious choice on which to build a fortress, and was regarded as 'the gateway to the highlands'which is still true today.
Visit Stirling Castle and then wander through the streets of the Old Town to get a real feel for Scotland 's past.

The surrounding Stirlingshire countryside is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts; walking, cycling and paragliding are all on offer on the nearby Ochil Hills. Slightly further away are The Trossachs, Callander, Loch Lomond National Park, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The Courtyard provides the ideal central touring base for your Scottish holiday.

For the golfing enthusiast there is golf available at every turn. Kings Park has its own course and there are at least another five courses close to Stirling. Slightly further afield are the world-famous Gleneagles and St Andrews Old Course.

Transport within the area offers excellent links to all areas; Edinburgh and Glasgow with their international airports are within one hour’s drive. Stirling also has a good bus/rail network and motorways heading both north, further through Scotland, and south towards England and Wales.
