Julies Chalets Dartmouth

This spacious bungalow has been fully refurbished, double-glazed and modernised, with it’s own allotted parking space outside front door. Fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, duvets, blankets and pillows.
You supply your own sheets, pillow-cases, duvet covers, towels and tea towels. A linen service is available if required at a small extra charge.

Bedrooms: main bedroom has a kingsize divan, wardrobes and bedside cabinets. The second bedroom has twin single divans, wardrobe and bedside chest.
The Lounge is furnished with a 3/2 seater settee, dining table and chairs, cabinet, coffee tables, colour TV and video.

The Kitchen has fitted units, electric cooker, microwave oven, refrigerator, electric kettle and filter coffee maker.

The Main Bathroom fitted shower cubicle, vanity wash basin, heated towel rail, downflow electric heater, electric shaver point, extractor fan. Separate w.c. Second shower room as above.

General: Heating is by electric fan heater in the lounge, plus oil filled radiators. Fitted carpets throughout except kitchen, bathroom and toilet.
Additional Items: Books, games, videos and for your picnic (chairs, thermos flask, plastic knives, forks, mugs and plates).

Power Supply: A £1 electric slot meter is mounted in the wall cupboard off hall way.

Places to Visit
Torquay/Paignton/Brixham (The English Riviera), Totnes, Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Modbury, Plymouth, Dartmoor, plus numerous ‘picture postcard’ villages.

Beaches
East of the River Dart, The English Riviera boasts twenty beaches and coves along its twenty two miles of coastline, including Maidencombe, Oddicombe, Babbacombe, Meadfoot, Torre Abbey Sands, Preston, Paignton, Goodrington and Broadsands. West of the river and one of the most scenic is Blackpool Sands near Stoke Fleming. It has the added advantage of being only 3–4 miles from the Chalet. The closest is Sugary Cove which is situated along a wooded path from Dartmouth Castle and down steep steps. It is very sheltered due to the high wooded slopes to the sides and rear. Others include Bigbury–on–Sea (You can cross to Burgh Island at low tide). Bantham (golden sandy beaches with plenty of room to play among the dunes). Thurleston (good swimming, sand dunes). Hope Cove, (very picturesque old fishing village with two beaches and rock pools), unfortunately access is by quite narrow country lanes which can reach gridlock in high season. Salcombe (two main beaches on the river estuary). East Portlemouth (long sandy beach can be reached by road or ferry from Salcombe). Slapton Sands, largest beach in the area where the D-Day landings were rehearsed. Plenty of room but very exposed, swimming can be dangerous.

The River Dart
Admire the quaint Bayard’s Cove (alongside the lower ferry point) where the TV series ‘The Onedin Line’ was filmed. Take a steamer trip up the magnificent river to Totnes passing the residence of the late Agatha Christie plus the lovely riverside villages of Dittisham & Stoke Gabriel. Consider continuing your trip along the upper reaches of the river by steam train. Shorter trips on the river and to Dartmouth Castle. Take the car or passenger ferry to Kingswear.

Steam Railways
The Paignton and Dartmouth Railway terminating at Kingswear. From Kingswear the train follows along the East bank of the river Dart then heads through wooded slopes to Churston, then along spectacular coastline to Goodrington Sands en route to Paignton. The South Devon Railway runs from Totnes (across the footbridge from BR station) via Staverton to Buckfastleigh travelling in close proximity to the picturesque river.

Paignton Zoo (set in 75 acres). Woodlands Leisure Park (3 miles from Norton Park). Cockington Country Park (Torquay). The butterfly Farm & Otter Sanctuary and Pennywell Farm Wildlife Centre (Buckfastleigh). River Dart Country Park (Ashburton). Dartmoor Wildlife Park (Sparkwell). Sorley Tunnel Adventure Farm (Kingsbridge).
