Bayview cottage
Bayview is situated in the no 1 location on the Uists. The cottage is an old fishermans cottage, recently refurbished to a very high standard.
Sleeps 4 people, twin bedded room, lounge with large sofa bed, fully fitted kitchen, wetroom. Lounge with multi fuel stove, very cosy for those cool nights. Outside picnic table. Located on the edge of the ocean, white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, slipway for your own boat 200 metres away. Centrally located for exploring all the Outer Hebrides. Corncrakes, Otters, all kinds of birds and ducks, basking sharks, seals and dolphins all to be seen locally or from the cottage windows. Situated on its own, yet only 5 minutes drive from all amenities, supermarket, post office, restaurants, souvenir shopping, Drs, hospital, in nearby Balivanich. Half an hours drive from Loch Maddy ferry terminal.
Visit Flora MacDonalds birthplace just 15 minutes drive away. Nunton and Kildonan museums in the near vicinity. Hebridean jewellery shop and cafe, Visit the famous Orasay inn for a lovely meal, visit Salar smokehouse and treat yourself to the wonderful, unique smoked salmon, used by Rick Stein and winners of numerous awards.
Take your salmon back to the cottage where you can eat your meal, overlooking the magnificent views of the ocean and hills beyond. A truly memorable visit to this wonderful, friendly island.
