Tigh Na Mara Self Catering Accommodation

Tigh Na Mara self catering accommodation provides two beautifully appointed croft cottages located on the shore of a secluded bay on the Isle of Harris in the Western Isles (Outer Hebrides) of Scotland.

The cottages are situated at the foot of a private road on the shore of Carragreich Bay, approximately 4 miles east of Tarbert. We are a 10 minute drive from the ferry terminal at Tarbert and just under 1 hours drive from Stornoway Airport.

Tigh Na Mara has been kept within the same family since it was built in the 1800s, the same family having lived at this exceptional and unique location since 1771. Both cottages enjoy uninterrupted views of Scotasay and are ideally situated to enjoy activities such as hillwalking, fishing, cycling, kayaking. For those just wanting to relax, both self-catering cottages offer comfortable and tranquil surroundings to enjoy the only passing forms of life such as seals, porpoises and otters.

Tigh Na Mara has undergone extensive renovation offering high quality self catering accommodation.

Tigh Na Mara sleeps 5/7 adults and the End House sleeps 2/3 adults. Both properties can be rented individually or as a single let for larger groups.

Tigh Na Mara offers spacious and well equipped self-catering accommodation suitable for 5/7 adults or a family. The cottage consists of 3 bedrooms: 1 double room; 1 twin room and 1 single room (2 camp beds and a cot are available on request), bathroom, lounge (TV, DVD player, books, games), WC, large kitchen/diner (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, microwave, toaster, fridge freezer, electric hob and oven, kettle).
Bed linen and towels are provided.

All rooms in the cottages are heated by way of electric storage and convection heaters plus there is a coal fire in the lounge and a multi-fuel burning stove in the kitchen.
Parking is available.

Storage for bikes and a drying area is available in the sheds, which adjoin both cottages.

The End House cottage offers well equipped and tastefully decorated self-catering accommodation suitable for 2/3 adults or smaller family. The accommodation consists of a double bedroom, lounge (with bed settee)/dining area (TV, DVD player, books, games), kitchen (electric hob and oven, toaster, kettle, washing machine) and shower room. The End House is heated by electric heaters and a multi-fuel burning stove in the lounge.
Bed linen and towels are provided.
Parking is available.
Storage for bikes and a drying area is available in the sheds which adjoin both cottages.

Availability and Pricing
Both cottages are available all year round. During mid and peak seasons bookings are for one week or multiples of whole weeks running from Saturday – Saturday.
During off-season bookings for both properties can be more flexible. Please contact us to discuss availability.
