Riverside House holiday cottage in Derbyshire, Peak District
4 star self catering holiday accommodation in Litton Mill. Sleeps 9&3 (double sofa bed, z-bed, small child put away bed and cot). There are four bedrooms, 3 upstairs (two doubles and one triple) and one downstairs (double), which is suitable for mobility impaired guests. There are three bathrooms (one ensuite and family bathroom upstairs) plus a further wc and shower downstairs (suitable for use with fourth bedroom).
Our kitchen is spacious and fully equipped with a large double range cooker, 2 fridges and a freezer, microwave, high chair, dining for up to 8, music system and more. The dining room can seat up to 10 and more when the two tables from the kitchen and dining room are joined together. We supply lots of board games for all ages, plus books, guides and maps. There is free wi-fi access for all our guests.
The lounge can seat up to 12 and has a surround sound TV, log burning stove (free supply of logs), and has a feature vaulted ceiling. We have a hall with lots of space for coats and boots and there is a separate utility room with washing machine, washer dryer and overhead clothes dryer.
Outside there is a patio area with plenty of outdoor seating, a BBQ and a safe enclosed grass area suitable for small children and dogs. There is a wild river bank area, which gives lovely views onto the River Wye.
The detached garage can accommodate 2 cars and the off-street parking a further 2. The table tennis table is located in the garage and above the garage is a games room with a separate access outside. There is pool, air hockey, table football, scalextric, freeview TV, PS2, DVD, music centre, fridge and seating.
There are lovely walks from the door of the house to Monsal Head, Monsal Trail, Chee Dale, Cressbrook, Tideswell Dale and many, many more. There are plenty of things to do locally including Poole's Caverns and Go Ape in Buxton, plus the opera house and Pavillion Gardens, Bakewell with the charms of a market town, Ashford-in-the-Water a delightful Peak village, Chatsworth House only 20 mins drive and Matlock Bath and Alton Towers within easy drive.
Activities nearby include golf, horse riding, caving, rock climbing, hang gliding, mountain biking and fishing.
The nearest pub is one mile in Miller's Dale, with other great pubs nearby in Litton, Tideswell and Chelmorton. The local shops in Tideswell include a co-op, deli, two cafes, 3 pubs, 2 fish and chip shops, a butcher, chemist and fruit and veg shop. Buxton has a Morrisons, Waitrose and M&S as well as other local shops.
