Airds boasts many excellent viewpoints one of which is the 6 acres of rough grassland and broadleaf woodland known as Airds Glen, this is freely accessible to guests. Children and adults alike will enjoy walking through and relaxing in the beautiful glen. Red kites and buzzards and many species of birds are regularly seen in the over the skies of Airds. In recent months, kites have been visiting Airds on a daily basis.
Airds farm is an ideal location for both relaxing and active holidays in this exceptionally scenic area of Scotland. Dumfries & Galloway (sometimes known as south west Scotland) is one of the most unappreciated parts of Scotland. It has many places of interest, such as castles (Threave, Cardoness, Caerlaverock, Drumlanrig to name but 4), abbeys, (Sweetheart & Dundrennan) and interesting towns such as Kirkcudbright, Dumfries and Gretna.
The coastline has many small places of interest also, such as Auchencairn, Colvend, Rockcliffe and Kippford, with walks both easy and arduous. Artists still flock to Kirkcudbright with its light appreciated by famous artists such as Hornel and Faed.
