The Victorian Barn Luxury Self Catering Accommodation
The Victorian Barn nestles under Bulbarrow Hill on a small working beef farm in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is situated 8 miles west of the Georgian town of Blandford Forum and four miles south of Sturminster Newton, being an old medieval market town as mentioned in the Doomsday Book.
The Victorian Barn is a triple span barn and was originally built over 160 years ago. Dairy cows were kept in stalls and milked by hand some of the milk was processed and made into cheese and the whey was fed to the pigs. The working shire horses were also stabled in the barn.
The barn has now been lovingly restored into luxury accommodation, and graded 4 star gold, for guests to enjoy the glorious Dorset countryside famous for Thomas Hardy.
The Victorian Barn houses The Victoria Suite, Beatrice House, Leopold House and Helena House.
All of the properties have been lovingly restored to a high standard and are complete with luxury en suite facilities.
At the heart of The Victorian Barn is the stunning Osborne Hall, with its flagstone floor, under floor heating, minstrel balcony and glass roof where the sky comes alive at night.
The Osborne Hall, with it's wooden dance floor area, can be used for many special events, civil wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, children’s parties, birthday & anniversary celebrations, barn dances, medieval banquets, lunch parties, demonstrations, workshops, art & craft or floral exhibitions, corporate events and many other social events.
To the south end of The Victorian Barn are three further properties: The Byre, The Hayloft and The Granary which all have en suite facilities, along with many original features.
