Barn Cottages at Lacock

Three cottages, each sleeping four, surrounded by fields, yet close to Bath and perfectly situated for touring Wiltshire and the Cotswolds. The National Trust village of Lacock, where many films have been set including Harry Potter and Pride & Prejudice, is nearby.

Maple, Cherry and Chestnut all have a light and airy open-plan living area with exposed oak beams, downstairs double bedroom and shower room and a galleried sleeping area with twin beds accessed by a ladder staircase. This bedroom may not be suitable for unsupervised small children.

All have french doors to a patio area with garden furniture and Chestnut has a glazed wall which opens out onto a further small seating area. Both cottages are well-equipped with DVD player, dishwasher, microwave, radio/CD player and furnished to a high standard. They share a utility room which has a sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer.

Each cottage has a tiled, open plan kitchen, living and dining area with exposed oak beams giving a light and airy feel. There are French doors at the front of each, opening out on to a small patio area with garden furniture and barbecue. The Shaker style kitchens are well equipped and have electric cooker with oven, dishwasher and microwave.

Each has a double bedroom downstairs with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, and a shower room with washbasin and WC. Ladder stairs lead to a mezzanine galleried twin-bedded room with a wooden floor. This is not suitable for unsupervised young children but older children love it.

Chestnut Cottage has a further set of French windows in a glazed wall to the side, which opens out on to a small seating area with a garden view.

The cottages share a separate utility room containing a washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer, sink and space for hanging wet or dirty coats and shoes. All heating, electricity and hot water is included in the tariff as is all bed linen, towels and tea towels.
