The Cheese House Grade II Self Catering Cottage.

Charming Grade II detached cottage, surrounded by stunning countryside midway between Swanage and Corfe Castle.

The Cheese House has just undergone a complete renovation and has been decorated in a stylish decor with comfort in mind, using designers such as Cath Kidston, Emma Bridgewater etc.

On the ground floor is a shower room, kitchen/diner which provides loads of work space and even has a log burner. On this level is also a bright double bedroom.

Upstairs in the beautiful beamed lounge which has an open ceiling to the eaves [reduced ceiling height in places], and enjoys far reaching rural views. The spacious bedroom has the same stunning views and can be either a super king size bedroom or arranged as a twin bedroom, just let us know at the time of booking.

Included in the price: quality bed linens, plush towels [although guests are requested to bring their own beach towels], tea towels. The Cheese House is centrally heated during winter months.

Adjacent to the farmhouse, The Cheese House has its own private garden area, BBQ and seating.rganic milk, butter, fresh local bread, free range eggs, tea and coffee.


The Cheese House is within easy reach of the beautiful Jurassic coastline. Swanage, with a beautiful sandy beach, is only 3.5 miles and Corfe Castle 2 miles, which makes it an ideal location to explore the Isle of Purbeck. Harman's Cross railway station is approximately a 10 minute walk where you can take a nostalgic steam train ride into Swanage or Corfe Castle.

Cycles can be hired nearby or arrangements can be made to have cycles delivered to the Cheese House for you. Horse riding stables are also located nearby.

The Cheese House and Westwood Farm are ideally situated for exploring the Jurassic Coast, and whatever the weather you can always find something interesting and fun to do. Apart from the information below there is so much more to see and enjoy.

Enjoy a nostalgic steam-train ride on the Purbeck line. Steam trains run every weekend throughout the year with daily runnings Apr to Oct.Swanage Railway currently operates on the six miles of track between Swanage and Norden, through the beautiful Isle of Purbeck, passing the magnificent ruins of Corfe Castle.

We welcome cyclists and walkers and we are only a few hundred metres down the lane from the Purbeck Way Walk which takes you across the Nine Barrow Downs. If you prefer cycling then we are located within easy reach of the Purbeck cycle routes. Harmans Cross station is approximately 1/2 mile away and from there you can catch the steam train to Corfe Castle and Swanage. The area is a World Heritage Site.
