Isle of Wight Cottages

We offer two holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight.

Maytime Cottage is an exceptionally spacious period stone cottage sleeping up to six people (&cot) in three 1st floor bedrooms. With 3 reception rooms, 2 bathrooms, an enclosed garden and off road parking for 2 cars.

Located in a quiet rural spot near to the southern tip of the island, just a mile from the village of Whitwell and only a short distance from shops and beaches, Maytime Cottage provides a tranquil holiday home in lovely countryside with access to beautiful downland trails right from the door.

Plum Tree Cottage is a newly renovated 3 bedroom cottage with a spacious open plan living area plus 3 upstairs bedrooms and a bathroom. The cottage sleeps up to 6 people & cot.

The cottage is set in a large garden bounded by hedgerows on a quiet country lane in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village of Godshill is approximately one mile away. With easy access to miles of footpaths and a short drive to lovely beaches, the cottage provides a peaceful haven, in an unspoilt setting.

Maytime Cottage

Located near the southernmost tip of the Isle of Wight, Maytime Cottage offers spacious high quality self catering accommodation for six people, with an enclosed garden and parking for two cars.

The cottage has been completely renovated over the past two years and offers accommodation, facilities and equipment of a very high standard.

Maytime Cottage is set in beautiful and tranquil countryside. one mile from the village of Whitwell, four miles from the Victorian resort of Ventnor, and close to some of the Island's finest beaches.

Easy access to beaches, and walking trails combined with the multitude of activities and attractions in the area, means that you can enjoy many different kinds of holiday from a single base.

The cottage has a large living area comprising a sitting room, a large kitchen-diner and a further reception room opening onto the patio and rear garden.

The kitchen is fully equipped and has the benefit of washing machine, dishwasher and microwave as well as electric hob and oven.

There is a bathroom and WC upstairs and a shower room and WC on the ground floor.

The sleeping accommodation is in 3 bedrooms. the first a large double room with double bed, the second also a double room with 3' bunk beds and a 2' 6'single bed. the third bedroom is a single room with a 3' single bed. Bed linen is provided for up to six people.

Heating is provided by gas central heating. There is also a wood-burning stove in the living room.

Smoking is not permitted in the cottage

Maytime Cottage is located 1 mile north of the village of Whitwell which can be reached on foot by public footpath and has a post office, shop, garage and pub. 2 miles to the south is Niton with a chemist, butcher, minimarket, newsagent and pub. 4 miles to the south east is the delightful Victorian resort town of Ventnor.

Maytime Cottage is set in open countryside and offers far reaching views towards Godshill and the neighbouring downs and has easy access to many miles of footpaths. There are good bathing beaches nearby at Ventnor and Bonchurch as well as many smaller coves and beaches dotted along the coastline.

Plum Tree Cottage

Plum Tree Cottage is a 19th century stone cottage which has been completely renovated in 2005/6 and offers superb quality holiday accommodation for up to six people.

The cottage is situated in a quiet rural lane, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, yet only walking distance from Godshill village.

The cottage itself features an open plan living area with a wood burning stove. The kitchen adjoins the living room and is modern and well equipped.

Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin and a large single room with bunk beds. All bedrooms offer views over the surrounding countryside. The bathroom /WC is also on the first floor.

Outside, is a large enclosed garden with patio and parking area. The cottage is centrally heated.

The cottage is centrally heated and also has a multifuel stove in the living room for a real fire, - ideal for cooler evenings in Spring or Autumn. The spacious open plan living area leads into the beautifully fitted kitchen, which features a washer dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave and electric hob and oven.

Upstairs there is a master bedroom with a double bed, middle bedroom with two singles and a single room with 3' bunk beds. The bathroom/WC with shower is also located on the first floor.

The spacious garden extends around 3 sides and is mainly lawned, with some fruit trees (hence the name) and is bordered by mature hedgerows. There is a south facing patio area with garden furniture and BBQ.

Nestling under the western side of Stenbury Down, a mile south of Godshill, Plum Tree Cottage offers an exceptionally quiet location. The cottage is reached via a network of quiet country lanes and provides a real 'away from it all' feel.

Despite it's rural location there is easy access to shops and facilities with Godshill a 10 minute walk away and with the seaside towns of Ventnor and Shanklin a short drive.

There are countless attractions in the area as well as a superb network of footpaths offering routes to explore the surrounding countryside in all directions.

The are many beaches within a short drive some offering facilities, but also some beautiful out of the way beaches and coves can be found around the south of the island.
