Gower Edge

AROUND THE HOUSE: The well-equipped kitchen has a dual fuel range cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer in the conservatory. There are three lounge areas, one of which incorporates a dining table for 8 (there is additional breakfast seating in the kitchen). In another lounge area there is a 32' widescreen colour TV with DVD player, and from this room there is access to the conservatory, with further seating, through French windows.

The final lounge has another TV, which plays DVDs and videos (wide range available at the property). Finally there is a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and full size hand basin. Upstairs there are four comfortable double bedrooms, one with king-size double bed, and three with twin beds. There is also a family size bathroom with corner bath and separate shower cubicle. Outside there is off road parking for three cars at the front of the property, and an enclosed garden with patio area to the rear. WHERE TO GO: The Gower Peninsula was the first place in the United Kingdom to be classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the beaches of the Gower regularly feature in '10 best' lists. The Daily Mail has included the Gower Peninsula in its 2009 top beaches in the world list, and describes the view over Rhossili beach as “one of the most glorious costal views in Britain.” For those who enjoy their TV, it has acted as a backdrop in several Dr Who and Torchwood programmes. A number of the beaches also offer good surfing opportunities.

Inland in the Gower there is a mixture of woodland, farmland and heath which makes it a fantastic area for walking and bird watching as well. If you enjoy gardens, the National Botanic Garden of Wales, established in 2000, is 30 minutes away, and many other gardens are well worth a visit, including the parks within Swansea itself, which have an excellent reputation. GOWER GOLF BREAKS: For those who enjoy their walking on a golf course, there are many excellent choices in the locality, the closest being the Gower Golf Course (about 1.5 miles away), with it's beautiful views over the Loughour Estuary. There are six golf courses which welcome visitors within ten miles of Gower Edge, and details of these are listed on our 'Gower Thoughts' blog, which can be accessed through our website link at the bottom of the page. This gives you the opportunity to put together your own DIY golf break with Gower Edge as your base, at a fraction of the cost of staying in a hotel. With this in mind, we regularly update a number of short break offers to start you in the right direction!

GOWER SHORT BREAKS: We actively encourage people to take short breaks out of season by pricing as attractively as we can. It is a great opportunity for friends and family to meet up, or for groups to book the accommodation for specific events (eg a gala at the Wales National Pool). Our weekend breaks are 3 nights Friday to Monday, and our mid-week breaks are 4 nights Monday to Friday.
