Eagle Hill Cottage
The cottage comprises of open plan oak kitchen with integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher, electric hob, gas oven, George Forman's grill, sandwich toaster, coffee maker, washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave.
The first of the 3 double bedrooms is located on the ground floor with velux window. The living/dining area is open plan with wood burner, solar or oil heating.
The shower room and utility room are just off the kitchen.
On the first floor, the remaining 2 double bedrooms can be found, one with single and double bed. The bathroom with bath/shower is also on this floor.
The cottage is in a peaceful setting surrounded by hills with panoramic view of Berehaven Harbour and Bantry Bay, yet is only 2.5 miles from Castletownbere, the second largest fishing port in Ireland on the Beara Peninsula, South West Cork. Berehaven Harbour is the second largest natural harbour in the world.
The peninsula is bordered by the waters of Bantry Bay, Kenmare Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the wonderful rugged coastline and scenery of the Caha Mountains. The picturesque village of Eyeries is only a couple of miles away. The Gulf Stream climate encourages subtropical trees and shrubs in Glengarriff and Lauragh. Mediterranean plants not found elsewhere in Ireland flourish here.
There are many walking routes to choose from in the Beara Way, a tourist trail travelling along the entire Beara Peninsula passing through all the towns and villages along the way or there are numerous archaeological sites to see.
Activities also include golfing, cycling, fishing, horse riding and sailing. Travel to Dursey Island and try the cable car service, the only one in Ireland. Get the ferry from Castletownbere to Bere Island, 1.5 km away.
Go for a round of golf in the local 9 hole golf club, just 5 km from Castletownbere.
The spiritual care centre, Dzogchen Buddhist Retreat Centre is only 8 km west of Castletownbere.
