Pen Y Banc and Cross Keys Self Catering Holiday Cottage
Pen Y Banc is a private detached stone cottage that is cosy, comfortable and relaxing. Originally built at least two hundred years ago the cottage retains some original features but has more modern attributes such as double glazing, central heating, wood burner hunter stove in the dining room and an instant gas fire stove in the living room. The Cross Keys is semi detached and situated in the centre of the village opposite the Church Lychgate and was originally a village tenement house, converted to an ancient Ale House in 1804.
The hamlets of Sarnau and LLandderfel are well situated and is ideal for touring and exploring some of the most spectacular and beautiful parts of North and Mid Wales Wales. and for walking and bird watching at the RSPB sites at Lake Vyrnwy or at Conwy. It also lies between the two Mountain Bike Centres at Coed Llandegela Forest and Coed- y- Brenin Forest and the outdoor water sports facilities at Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid) or the White Water Centre just outside Bala or on the river Dee at Llangollen. You can even just set off from the front door and walk up to the moors, lake and forest. You may even see the Red Kites.
Pen Y Banc is set on and into a bank (Pen Y Banc means top of the bank in Welsh) overlooking the hamlet. The cottage feels cosy, homely, relaxing and comfortable. It has a living room with a instant flame gas stove as well as central heating throughout the cottage, ensuring that comfortable holidays can be provided all year around.
In the living room there is a TV, DVD, Video, Music Centre as well as plenty of books, games, puzzles to entertain you if you find yourself short of things to do which I doubt. It has a dining room with wood burning/multifuel hunter stove. A well equipped kitchen with a washing machine, gas hob, double electric oven, microwave, refrigerator with icebox. Off the kitchen is a covered patio area where you can eat breakfast. There is an additional larder fridge.
There are two bedrooms upstairs; the master bedroom with a king size bed with a Tempur Mattress. The pretty second bedroom has a double bed. The bathroom has a electric shower over the bath, shaver point. The stairs, landing and bedrooms have 100% Berber Carpet fitted. It has a private front and rear cottage garden that teams with insect and bird life in the spring and summer. You can sit on the garden swing or relax in the garden or sit in the summer house. There is a small pond, so visitors need to be mindeful of this if they have small children. There are secure facilities for storing and cleaning bicycles and parking to the side of the cottage. Motor Bikes can also be parked securely under cover.
The Cross Keys feels very cosy but querky due to its age. It has three floors and a cellar. There is a fully equiped kitchen/diner with a multifulel stove, very comfortable living room with stove, electic dimplex wall heater, TV, Radio, books games similar to Pen Y Banc. There are four beautiful bedrooms. On the first floor a double room with walk in closet and single room with store under bed.
On the top floor a large bedroom with a king and an adjoining bedroom with a day bed and single bed. There is a small bathroom with sink, shower, bidet, pheated towel rail, shaver/tooth brush point BUT NO BATH. The tariff includes electricity, gas, and first supply of logs, bed linen, towels and disposable kitchen items, e.g. Paper towel, washing powder and washing up liquid. There are no hidden extras.
One well behaved dog will be considered.
