The cottage is comfortably furnished for five and retains many of the original features including flagged floors, meat hooks and fireplaces.

Double, twin and single bedrooms sleep 5 and a cot/highchair are available. The family bathroom has a bath/WC/washbasin and power shower.

There is also a downstairs shower room with WC shower, washbasin.
Washing machine and tumble dryer.
Smokeless fuel is provided for the AGA multifuel stove.
The cottage kitchen has a Ceramic hob/electric oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave as well as a wide range of utensils and crockery

The living room provides a LCD TV/DVD;CD/radio. Sky FreeSat is provided and gives access to a wide range of digital channels.
There is a range of maps, local interest books and guides, maps, wildlife books, general reading books, games, and DVDs in a cosy 'snug'.

A feature of the house is the conservatory/ dining room, with oak flooring and an attractive gallery, which allows you to dine in comfort whilst enjoying glorious views of Coniston Old Man and the surrounding fells.
There is an enclosed cottage garden around Ellis Howe with a paved patio/terrace at the rear with a picnic table also with spectacular views to enjoy whilst eating outside.

Heating is by a combination of storage heaters, bedroom electric heaters and an Aga multifuel stove in the living room.

Coniston Water is a short distance from the cottage through woodlands over Torver Common. There are many other walks and climbs in the immediate area.

There are two pub/restaurants within walking distance and a good torch is provided for the night time excursions to these pubs.

Parking for 4/5 cars is in a wide lay-by next to Ellis Howe.

Coniston village is less than 3 miles away and provides many amenities such as garage, supermarket, butchers, post office, newspapers, hardware and general supplies.
