Little Briar Cottage self catering holidays
Little Briar Cottage faces south offering the most spectacular view of Loch Earn from its elevated position on the 3 acre grounds of a 300 year old thatched cottage.
The site was originally owned by McGregor's, then the Duke of Breadalbane descended from Campbells followed by 200 years of McLarens.
Today the property and grounds are cared for by owners Fraser and Kim Proven. The self-catering holiday cottage sleeps 4 in 1 twin and 1 double room with a compact kitchen, dining lounge area and bathroom with Mira Shower.
Surrounded by a wooden patio and terraces the ornamental garden includes oriental patio furniture. The paddock behind the cottage leads to the old disused Caledonian railway line, now a pathway along the back of Lochearnhead village.
The cottage has its own driveway with a turning circle and parking for 2 cars with room for a boat trailer lochside. Guests are invited to enjoy the shore garden with its slipway, jetty, moorings, swing, summerhouse, picnic tables, barbecue and free fishing rights.
There are 2 pub/hotels plus a water sports and activities centre 200 metres from the gates. Archery lessons and quad biking are just some of the activities on offer in addition to water skiing and wakeboarding.
Anyone who enjoys walking, golf, cycling and water sports will be in their element here along with those who simply want to recover or relax. Lochearnhead is so central within Scotland that you can visit most of the major tourist towns and attractions in a day trip.
This is also a haven for folklore, history, bird watching, wildlife and nature lovers too. Lochearnhead village is 7 miles from St Fillans, 7 miles from Killin, 4.5 miles from Balquhidder, 4 miles from Strathyre, 13 miles from Callander and 13 miles from Comrie.
Stirling and Perth are a 30 and 45 minute drive away. Edinburgh and Glasgow take between 75 and 90 minutes.
Anyone with a wifi enabled laptop can get the password for free Wifi access on arrival.
The cottage has Sky TV, an electric massage chair, games, books, a DVD and video player with a selection of DVD'S and movies to watch. Smoking is permissible outside in the garden area where there is a choice of 3 picnic table areas with sun umbrellas and loungers.
