| Q. How do I add the link to my own website? |

For a Free listing in order for a link to show to your own website, it is necessary to link back to the e-selfcatering.com website.
You need to place a link somewhere on your own website to http://www.e-selfcatering.com
This can either be a text link or you can use an image, such as a banner. We have prepared a few images you may wish to use, you can contact us for these.
Once you have linked to the E Self Catering Directory, log in using the email address on which you receive enquiries and your password.
As soon as you log in, or if you are already logged in click on "Your Details". Near the bottom is "Website Links" and beside it, it will say : "Your reciprocal link has NOT been verified, the link to your site will NOT show. Validate Now"
Click on "Validate Now"
The top box now shows your website address, ensure this is correct.
In the lower box enter the address where the link can be found, this needs to be the full address to the actual page.
EG
http://www.yourwebsite.com/links.html
If your site is in frames, still link to the physical page upon which the link can be found.
Then click on "Update and Validate".
The site will then go and look for the link, in seconds, when it finds it, it will update your entry and on your full page the link will show.
You may need to refresh your page to see the updated version, this is the F5 key in Internet Explorer, this is because your browser may show you what it knows is there, rather than what is actually there.
Our system is automated and approximately once a month will check your page to see if the link to the directory is still there.
Featured and Premium listings do not need to link to the directory though of course it would be appreciated.
We know this is a little mercenary, but it is essential for the directory in the long term and the only requirement of a free listing. You can still advertise your Self Catering Property on the directory without the links either way and potential guests can still enquire.
