Studio Apartment between Cahors and Sarlat south west France

The garden apartment is set in 2 hectares of tranquil lawns, terraces and wooded grounds. In the gardens is a large 12 x 6 metre, salt water, swimming pool which is shared with our chambres d'hôtes guests. Close to Cahors and the Lot Valley. The perfect place for a holiday or short break to explore the beautiful local region.

Our stylish studio apartment is adjacent to the swimming pool with views over the pool and gardens and has its own private decking with a table and chairs beneath the grape vines. Inside the spacious studio apartment is a double bed (160 cm), a comfortable sitting area with armchairs and also a dining table and chairs. The spacious en-suite bathroom has a shower and twin basins. The bright kitchen is fully equipped. All linen, including towels and pool towels, is provided for the apartment. Free WiFi internet access. Boulodrome and badminton court in the gardens.

La Galerie is near Cahors in the Lot, and is 1km from the village of Catus and close to the Lac Vert with beach, pedalos, canoes and fishing, tennis courts, a restaurant and lakeside café bar. There are also two outstanding restaurants within 10 minutes drive, plus an even wider choice within 15 minutes.

Other activities here and nearby include walking, riding and mountain biking. Catus has a good restaurant, post office, bank, supermarket, bakers, butchers, pharmacy, newsagents, florist, tourist office and bar with a popular Tuesday morning market.

Rocamadour, the most popular site in the Lot, is 45km north, with its ramparts and houses clinging to a rock face above the Alzou gorge. Nearby, many grottos and caves can be found in the Causse du Quercy, displaying their prehistoric paintings and engravings.

Cahors, the capital of the Lot, is situated on the river Lot 15km away, with its good selection of shops, cafés, bars, restaurants, museums, galleries and historic architecture. The beautiful 14th century Pont Valentre, the only fortified bridge with three towers, in the world, is the symbol of Cahors. The Wednesday and Saturday morning markets are stocked with local produce.

Cahors is also known for its deep ruby red wines and the vineyard trail can be followed west of Cahors along the Lot valley to the beautiful medieval town of Puy-l'Eveque. Saint Cirq-Lapopie sits high above the Lot valley to the east of Cahors with a maze of lanes running between the attractive stone and half-timbered buildings.

The beautiful town of Sarlat is in close by Dordogne, with its many wonderful chateaux along the river and many attractive bastide towns.
