Romantic little country house in Sicily near Segesta Temple
The house has an open plan living room with kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom. A flight of stairs leads to a mezzanine floor with a sofa bed and a desk. The living room/kitchen leads directly onto a covered terrace with a barbecue, wood stove, a large dining table and gas heaters for the spring and autumn evenings.
Sicilian cooking courses available on request: Learn how to hand make bread and pasta, stuffed ravioli, how to choose fresh local ingredients, how to shop for fresh fish at Trapanis' fish market, how to use ricotta to make cannoli or 'cassata siciliana'.

one hour to the archaeological Greek site of Selinunte, which include a whole town with three temples,
45 minutes to the Phoenician archaeological site of Mothia, a small island set in the middle of the 'Stagnone' lagoon, approachable from the mainland with a characteristic Sicilian boat. The Island was the sacred burial ground for an ancient culture and was discovered by the English family of the Whitaker in the eighteen century. The museum hold magnificent artefacts, beautifully displayed, but he whole island is worth exploration and discovery.
45 minutes to the medieval village of Erice, with its narrow stone alleyways and its Punic castle.
45 minutes to the spectacular 'Tonnara di Scopello' setting to film and fiction.
one hour to the splendid white beach of San Vito Lo Capo.
45 minutes to the Lo Zingaro Nature Reserve - the best hiking trail in Sicily.
55 minutes to Marsala, on the south coast, where you can see a perfectly maintained punic ship, recently found in the Stagnone.
